| The South African DNA conducted a Programme of Activities Capacity Building Workshop in Pretoria at Burgers Park Hotel on the 14th of August 2012. The aim of the workshop was to:
• To provide information on Programmatic CDM and its advantages
• To advise project developers and CMEs on the host country approval process for South Africa
• To provide information on validation and verification of PoAs
• To provide information on the advantages and challenges associated with regional PoAs
• To provide information on carbon, financial and legal management of PoAs
• To share success of PoA case studies in South Africa and how it was achieved
• To build capacity on the registration and implementation of more PoAs in South Africa.
The workshop was attended by a range of stakeholders including the South African DNA, South African DNA Steering Committee, National Government Departments, Financial institutions, Academic Institutions, Carbon Management Organisations, Project Developers, Project Owners, Coordinating/Managing Entities, Municipalities, State Owned Enterprises, Environmental Organisations, Non-Government Organisations, etc.
